Good news on the chemotherapy front.
We have had some good news about Billy. His specialised test sent to the USA has come back as a type of cancer that responds better than average to this specific chemotherapy regime. It is a great boost for everyone.
He had a pretty rough week 2, but gladly is significantly better now (mum said he was 11 out of 10). The Oncologists call it week 2 syndrome. It appears that the animals that respond better are more likely to feel unwell in week 2 or 3. Although this si far from our aim (to make them feel unwell) it also means his remission is likely to be more successful and makes it just a little easier to accept his feeling this way for a brief time.
Happily there is no sign of the lymphoma at this point, and he has been acting very normally. He will have a cycle of 3 weekly chemotherapy medications, which also are less and less likely to make him feel unwell. Plus the cancer itself whilst in remission won't be making him feel unwell.
As this is such an aggressive cancer, sadly without chemo Billy would in all odds already have passed away (sorry for the reality check here).
I won't clog this blog with chemo stuff, I will post only significant changes or interesting facts. Our aim is to continue with Billy as in remission for a 6 month chemo cycle, with the ultimate aim of CURE (slim chance but it is a possibility with type b cell lymphoma)
Cheers
Steve
